Each year the Parish Council prepares a budget which is approved by the council members, the budget will include the precept amount, which is then submitted to West Suffolk Council. West Suffolk Council give the Parish Council the precept amount in April each year and then they collect the precept via your council tax bill. The Precept money is then used to fund the expenditure made by the Parish Council or to build funds for a larger project.
Each year the Parish Council must produce accounts, and complete an Annual Governance Statement, which is audited both internally and externally. The accounts can be viewed by members of the public within the dates detailed on the Confirmation of the Dates of the Period for the Exercise of the Public Rights, which is issued each year.
The Parish Council must ensure they comply to the Finanical Regulations as agreed by the Parish Council.
